A data breach of 265 Caribou Coffee locations did not include the Hutchinson stores.
Caribou Coffee Co. disclosed the breach Dec. 20, which it first noticed on Nov. 30. The company also listed more than 200 company-owned stores that were tied into the point-of-sale system that was attacked, and the Hutchinson store was not included on that list.
Caribou said customers who used a credit or debit card to make a purchase at one of the affected stores from Aug. 28 to Dec. 3 may have had their name, credit card number, expiration date and security code stolen.
The breach has been reported to the FBI and an investigation is ongoing. The company has set up a toll-free hotline at 877-693-3760 staffed from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. on weekdays and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekends. Customers with questions may also email inquiries@cariboucoffee.com.
