Jacob Albers

Jacob Albers

Jacob Albers: Grade 12, World of Work I

“Jacob was an easy pick for student of the month. I chose him because he is our first student to participate in the TigerPath Manufacturing Internship program. Jacob works at Innovative Foam. In partnership with this business, he is able to work on manufacturing machines while exploring this career field. Jacob is a model student in the classroom and on the job. His employer values him as an employee and will miss him upon graduation. Congratulations Jacob on being Hutchinson High School’s first manufacturing intern and representing your school in this much-needed career field in our community. He is the son of Lennie and Cory Albers. He is also the Elks’ Student of the Month.”

Jesus Llamas

Jesus Llamas

Jesus Llamas: Grade 12, Textiles and World of Work

“Ms. Eckhart and I both had Jesse in class this fall and we were extremely impressed with the growth and maturity that he displayed. Jesse has improved his attitude about school and education tremendously since his sophomore year. He began his senior year with a new mindset, which set him up for success. In my classroom he had zero missing work, a positive attitude, he worked well with others and demonstrated persistence when he did not understand something. In World of Work he demonstrated professional job skills in a job that carries a lot of responsibility. I am proud to have Jesse as one of our FACS Students of Month and wish him continued success throughout the rest of his senior year. He is the grandson of Julia and Federico Llamas.”

Marcus Smahel

Marcus Smahel: Grade 12, Drafting and Engineering III

“Marcus Smahel was chosen as student of the month in Drafting and Engineering III for his attitude, persistence, character and positive influence. He worked independently in problem solving and creating solutions to a number of different tasks given to him within the machine tool and CAD/CNC areas. Marcus is always happy to lend a helping hand with any project the Tech Ed. Department could come up with and he is always carrying a smile to go with his great attitude. Gaven Fisher

Gaven Fisher

Gaven Fisher: Grade 10, Tech Ed.

“Gaven is a prime example of someone who excelled by following the 10 commandments of career success we have adopted as a department. This consists of being positive, showing up on time, paying it forward, working hard and just doing things the right way. But what I found to be his best characteristic is when he comes to class, he comes to improve himself as an individual by learning every day, rather than learning in order to get a good grade. Gaven is a good example for other students and will go far if he keeps it up at his current pace. He is the son of Candy Fisher and William Fisher.”

— Mr. Aaron Gastecki

John Waller

John Waller

John Waller: Grade 12, Machine Tool Technology

“John has the work ethic that teachers wish all students had. He is always on task and thinking about what needs to be done next. He is a leader in the machine tool class and students look to him for help. He is always willing to help other students and does so in a very professional manner. He has good attention to detail and problem-solving skills which will serve him well in the mechatronics field. In addition to machine tool, John was the lead in setting up and organizing the equipment and furniture for the new mechatronics physics class being offered for freshmen. It is always a pleasure to have John in class. He is the son of Darcee and Craig Waller.”

Tori Kosters

Tori Kosters

Tori Kosters: Grade 9, Intro to Ag Careers

“This fall I had the pleasure of having Tori as a student in the Introduction to Agricultural Careers class. She has expressed interest in agriculture and getting involved in the Hutchinson FFA activities. As a freshman, she jumped in and got involved. She assisted in building the FFA’s homecoming float and was a group leader during the Farm Product and Safety Day held in October. Her genuine interest in agriculture was evident in the classroom and in her final presentation, in which she job shadowed her grandpa on his farm in South Dakota. She is the daughter of Heidi and Michael Kosters.”
