The Litchfield area remembered fallen heroes Monday morning.
Memorial Day events included a parade by Central Park in Litchfield, followed by a service in Lake Ripley Cemetery. Both the Nelsan Horton American Legion Post 104 and the Admiral Benson VFW Post 2818 participated.
"Thank you for coming and honoring our fallen heroes," VFW Commander Gerald Kaddatz said.
"The loved ones that we've had — families — they've all sacrificed," Mayor Keith Johnson said. "We can never, ever forget our loved ones, and when we pay tributes to them, it is really something special."
