Organized by Litchfield Downtown Council, and sponsored by Litchfield Golf Course Inc., the Easter egg hunt was held indoors for a second consecutive year — rather than the traditional spot at Central Park — due to the weather.
Indoors or outdoors, it didn’t seem to matter to the participants, however. The hunt was a smashing success as the approximately 5,000 plastic eggs disappeared into baskets carried by little children in a matter of minutes.
The egg hunt included grand prizes of 15 bikes — three in each of five age categories — and 15 Easter baskets. In addition, some eggs carried coupons from Litchfield businesses Stockman’s, McDonald’s, Speedway, Jimmy’s Pizza and Dairy Queen.
