A 23-year-old Darwin man was arrested Monday morning following a chase that reached more than 100 mph on County State Aid Highway 14.
According to a news release from the Meeker County Sheriff's Office, Brady Lietzau was arrested and booked into jail on felony charges of fleeing a peace office in a motor vehicle, driving after revocation and fourth-degree criminal damage to property.
The incident began at 11:17 a.m. Monday when a deputy attempted to stop a motorcycle rider that who was traveling 35 mph over the speed limit in the city of Darwin. The driver turned on a side street and failed to stop. The driver then headed north on CSAH 14, reaching more than 100 mph, according to the sheriff's office report.
The pursuit ended when the drive drove through a fence and put the motorcycle down in a pasture. He was arrested without further incident.
