A Litchfield woman was transported to the hospital yesterday morning after a chain-reaction crash in a construction zone on State Highway 22.
At approximately 10:45 a.m., 66-year-old Judith Marie Groskreutz, driving 2018 Ford Focus, rear-ended a 2013 Toyota Highlander, driven by 66-year-old Patrick Thomas Cleary of Spicer. Cleary's Toyota then struck a 2002 Buick LeSabre, driven by 19-year-old Orwynn Lee Miller of Jerco Springs, Missouri.
The Toyota and Buick were stopped by a flag person in a construction zone between Litchfield and Eden Valley when the Ford first struck the Toyota, according to the State Patrol.
Groskreutz was transported by ambulance for non-life-threatening injuries. Cleary and Miller were not injured, nor was Cleary's passenger. Miller was not wearing a seat belt, the State Patrol reported.
