It was another busy Water Carnival day Friday with events such as the Teddy Bear Band at noon in Library Square and the 76th annual Miss Hutchinson pageant in the evening.
The 2017 Water Carnival Royal Family were joined on the stage by this year's junior royalty candidates, as well as the eight candidates for Miss Hutchinson: Ann Landreville, Mandy Hay, Ashley Hartsuiker, Taylor Mielke, Olivia Watzke, Taylor Nelson, Erin Westlund and Alison Yira.
The women opened the pageant with introductions and evening gowns, followed by the talent portion of the competition and finishing with the Q&A discussion.
The 2018 Mr. Hutchinson and Woman of the Year were also announced, and they are John Hassinger and Val Elder.
