Litchfield's doubles team of Olivia Olson and Isla Dille claimed the Section 6A doubles championship Tuesday at Rogers Tennis Club.
Olson, a senior, and Dille, a freshman, teamed up to dispatch an Osakis pair in the semifinals and a New London-Spicer team in the championship match.
Olson and Dille advance to the State Class A Tennis Tournament, where they will open play at 10 a.m. Thursday at Reed-Sweatt Tennis Center in Minneapolis.
The Dragons team, who only began playing together for the Section 6A individual tournament, won two matches last week to advance to the final day of section competition Tuesday.
Dille was Litchfield's No. 1 singles player throughout this season after playing singles in the state tournament last season.
Olson was teamed with Emma Knudsen at No. 1 doubles throughout this season. She played first doubles last season, as well. She and partner Lauren Erickson reached the section semifinals before being eliminated.
Combining their talents made Dille and Olson an unbeatable team in the section tournament.
They beat Osakis' Madeline Anderson and Lauren Anderson 6-3, 6-1 in the semifinals. After a brief break, they returned to the court for the championship match, where they beat the New London-Spicer pair of Delaney Hanson and Madisyn Claseman 6-1, 6-4.
