American Farmland Trust and Argonne National Laboratory will offer a free technical assistance workshop about the adoption and management of perennial bioenergy crops Wednesday, March 27.
This project seeks to understand the environmental benefits and economic opportunities of using marginal lands to grow perennial bioenergy crops while also boosting farm resiliency.
The workshop will run from 9 a.m. to noon March 27 at Prairie Woods Environmental Learning Center in Spicer. An optional lunch will be provided after the workshop.
American Farmland Trust will share information on steps to adopt a perennial bioenergy crop, the environmental and economic benefits that can boost Midwest farm viability, and technical resources to take home.
While no admission will be charged, registration is necessary. Registration information is available at https://forms.office.com/r/5Hhe2LVjpf. Those who register will receive a confirmation email containing additional information about the workshop.
