Dassel-Cokato/Litchfield’s Tate Link has his hand raised in triumph after a win in the semifinals of the Section 6AA individual wrestling tournament Saturday at Becker High School. Link went onto claim the championship of the 182-pound class, qualifying for his third state tournament.
A pair of seniors will represent Dassel-Cokato/Litchfield at the State Class AA Wrestling Tournament this weekend in St. Paul.
Tate Link won the Section 6AA championship at 182 pounds, while Victor Franco finished runner-up at 120 pounds to earn trips to the state tournament, which opens runs Thursday through Saturday at Xcel Energy Center.
Both Link and Franco will be making their third appearances in the state individual tournament. Link, who finished fourth at state last season, won his second straight section championship Saturday.
Franco missed out on the state tournament last season after qualifying in 2020 and 2021, but he earned another trip in his final high school season by claiming second in the section at 120 pounds.
