Litchfield High School teachers selected Ava Burau and Stella Shepersky as Students of the Week for Nov. 6-10.
Shepersky, a freshman, was nominated by business teacher Justin Wittrock, who highlighted her accurate and on-time work. Wittrock also wrote that Shepersky earned recognition for “showing leadership while doing group activities” and “showing initiative to help complete duties in the school store.”
Shepersky participates in volleyball at LHS. Outside of school, she said she enjoys working out at Anytime Fitness, participating in club gymnastics three days a week and babysitting whenever she’s available.
She is the daughter of Scott and Maggie Shepersky of Litchfield.
English teacher Candace Boerema nominated Burau, a sophomore, saying she “has positive energy every day in class” and “is a hard worker who enjoys learning.”
Burau is a leader in the classroom, Boerema wrote, and “she asks great questions and encourages other students.”
Burau participates in volleyball, is a manager for the wrestling team, and plays golf at LHS. She also said she enjoys going to the weight room.
Outside of school, “I love to bow hunt in the fall for deer,” Burau wrote. “I work on engines with my dad in the garage a lot, and we fix stuff when it needs to be fixed.” She also likes to draw and loves “listening to my records in my room on my record player.”
She is the daughter of JoEllen and Jess Burau of Litchfield.
