Hutchinson Police Services reported the following incidents:
MAY 22: At 4:25 p.m., a hit-and-run crash occurred in the 500 block of Franklin Street. Robert Nordman of Hutchinson parked his 2007 Mazda on the street between 10 p.m. May 21 and 4 p.m. May 22 where it received minor damage. He said he parked behind a black Jeep, which also parks in the area. The officer found the Jeep and it had no damage. The owner is being contacted.
MAY 26: At 1:20 a.m., an officer observed a vehicle going the wrong way on a one-way street. He stopped the vehicle near the intersection of Main Street and Fifth Avenue and identified the driver as Patrick Michael Beneke, 26, of South St. Paul. Beneke showed signs of impairment and was arrested. During the pat-down, the officer allegedly found 1.3 grams of a white, powdery substance in a glass container, which field-tested positive for methamphetamine. Beneke was charged with misdemeanor DUI and felony fifth-degree possession of a controlled substance and taken to McLeod County Jail.
At 6:31 p.m., a theft was reported at Walmart. An officer met with an employee and the suspect, identified as Lisa Jo Lambrecht, 42, of Cologne. She admitted to attempting to steal and was arrested. During a search for weapons, more merchandise was found on her person for a total of $44.18. She was cited for theft and released at the scene.
MAY 29: At 1:49 p.m., a crash occurred at the intersection of South Grade Road and State Highway 15 South. Charles Ardolf of Silver Lake was northbound in his 2001 Ford on the service road of Highway 15 near Walgreens. He made a left-hand turn off the service road, went into the right lane to go straight on South Grade Road, and stopped for the red light. Jayden Goracke of Hutchinson was southbound in a 2004 GMC on the service road, stopped at the stop sign, and attempted to make a right-hand turn into the left lane of South Grade Road. Goracke hit Ardolf's bumper, causing minor damage to both vehicles. No citations were issued.
At 6:27 p.m., a crash was reported at the intersection of state highways 15 and 7. Sandi Sportelli of Hutchinson was eastbound on Highway 7 in a 2013 GMC. A 17-year-old Hutchinson boy was behind her in a 1996 Buick. They entered the left-turn lane where the juvenile rear-ended Sportelli, causing minor damage to both vehicles. The juvenile was cited for following too closely.
MAY 31: At 5:25 p.m., a crash was reported in the Cash Wise Foods parking lot. Roy Gierke of Hutchinson was backing out his 2017 Ford and hit Kathleen Bethke of Stewart, who was backing out her 2002 Chevrolet. Gierke's vehicle received minor damage and there was no damage to Bethke's. No citations were issued.
At 5:47 p.m., a theft of a bicycle was reported by a woman who lived in the 600 block of Graham Street. She said she left her Trek Mountain Bike unlocked outside Best Buy while she was working. It was silver and purple and valued at $100. There are no suspects.
JUNE 1: At 9:49 p.m., a theft occurred at Walmart. An officer met with an employee and two suspects. The employee said she saw them take hair care products, valued at $59.19, and conceal them in a large handbag. She detained them when they attempted to leave without paying. Iyiasha Deshae Kellog, 20, of Hutchinson and a 14-year-old Hutchinson girl were arrested, cited for theft and released. The juvenile was uncooperative in giving information, but the officer was able to contact the parents and she was released to them.
