Cement mixer truck crash in Dassel

Crews worked to clean up the mess after a Wednesday morning crash in Dassel at the intersection of U.S. Highway 12 and State Highway 15. A cement mixer truck was turned over on its side due to the collision.

A two-vehicle crash at the intersection of U.S. Highway 12 and State Highway 15 in Dassel sent three people to the hospital Wednesday morning.

According to State Patrol, a 2001 Sterling cement mixer truck owned by Hutchinson Concrete, driven by Duane Lyle Mattson, 57, of Dassel was traveling northbound on Highway 15 and a 2001 GMC Sierra driven by Rudolph Dwight Nyquist, 84, of Cokato was traveling eastbound on Highway 12. At about 8:49 a.m., the vehicles collided at the intersection.

The Meeker County Sheriff's Office, Dassel Fire Department and Gold Cross Ambulance also responded to the crash.

The two drivers and one passenger in the GMC Sierra, Marie Ann Nyquist, 82, of Cokato, were taken to Hutchinson Health with non-life threatening injuries.
